Hurricane Matthew: How Can I Help?
Many of our NC neighbors are suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Naturally our first response is to pray for all those who have lost loved ones, property and means of income. The NC Conference Disaster Response Committee is hard to work assessing needs, sending work teams and collecting resources for distribution. Here are some ways you can contribute:
-
Give to NC Storm Response (#S-00176) - 100% of you gift goes to response/relief efforts for victims. Check can made out to you local church with a note designating NC Storm Response #S-00176 on the memo line OR mail a check to Conference Treasurer-Raleigh Area, P.O. Box 890202, Charlotte, NC 28289-0202 with NC Storm Response #S-00176 on the memo line. You can give online at nccumc.org.
-
Assemble Cleaning Buckets of Health Kits. Go to: http://www.umcor.org/UMCOR/Relief-Supplies for information
-
Talk to you pastor about forming a team to help clean out damage. Your pastor will be in touch with your District Disaster Response Coordinator about relief efforts https://nccumc.org/outreach/disaster-reponse/disasterresponsecoordinators/
-
Respond to local requests for help. Many blood banks are requesting donations and shelters are in need of volunteers.
Thank you for witnessing the love of Christ!

Garden News
Members of our garden team will be meeting with two third grade classes at Lee Woodard Elementary School on March 2, 2017. The classes will learn about seeds and how a garden can grow. It is awesome that we can reach children of this age group and teach them how a community garden is beneficial.
On March 8-10, 2017, there will be a garden gathering of gardening friends that will meet at the garden. Seeds will be planted, beds will be raised, and other activities as we prepare of the spring crop. More Info.
